Wendy’s Story: Rediscovering Confidence and Joy
When Wendy first came to St Winefride’s from another care home, she was experiencing a very difficult time. She was not mobilising, her appetite was poor, and she was reluctant to have a shower following a fall in the shower. Her mood was also very low.
Since coming to St Winefride’s, it has been wonderful to see Wendy gradually regain her confidence and begin enjoying life again. Today, Wendy is mobilising with the support of her Zimmer frame and is once again able to enjoy a refreshing shower. She particularly enjoys a little pampering when our visiting hairdresser styles her hair, helping her to feel her very best.

Finding Joy Through Creativity
One of Wendy’s favourite activities is taking part in art sessions with our Art Therapist. These sessions give her an opportunity to be creative, express herself and, most importantly, have fun.
Music is another source of happiness for Wendy. She loves our visiting musical entertainers and enjoys joining in with parties and celebrations. Wendy has also embraced trips out, including visits to the beach, creating more opportunities to enjoy experiences beyond the home.
A particularly special experience was taking part in a photoshoot, which Wendy thoroughly enjoyed.
